Video example B: explaining the movements of mov. #2
Movement #3
The movement has an organic aesthetic according to 1) time and 2) sound:
1. the time is continuously flowing forward, but when some performers are performing patterns that are slightly accelerating or decelerating the overall feeling of time may be a bit more flexible. The beats are slightly individual and not tightly together during the organic patterns, but then the beats and shared time gather again in close connection after the more open and organic patterns occur (as in bar 163-166). This will create a contrast of the perception and feeling of time during the movement.
2. the sound when many claves or strings (col legno battuto) perform rhythmic patterns together, a slight flam is welcome, not constantly, and not the exact same flam, but a beat that is slightly alive and organic.
Sound example A: measure 163-165 and the organic accel. of mov. #3
Sound example B: measure 194-199 and the organic rit. (without the general ritardando) of mov. #3
